MON - May 14 / Day Six and the Second Week
“For you shall go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and the hills before you shall break out into singing and all the trees of the fields will clap their hands.”
Isaiah 55:12![]()
Sam talks about ProfitAfter an amazing weekend of seeing God’s creations in South Africa and recharging via a little downtime, it was back to the office Monday morning. We started off with time of prayer and giving thanks for the last week of God’s grace and blessings. Shortly after our clients showed up, we started right into the “Ps” for the day. Monday would be full, as we had to cover 3 of them. The first “P” was “Profit”. Sam did a great job outlining the importance of profit in a business, and how the “worlds” standard of profit is all about money, the bottom line, maximizing gain, excess, obtaining advantage or benefit. In God’s economy, profit limitless and is all about using it as a resource to serve an eternal purpose. Sam challenged us all with many questions, including…
How can you create a greater Kingdom Impact through the profits you make?
- Internal Kingdom Impact (our employees)
- External Kingdom Impact (the world)
An acronym for PROFIT:
P = Purpose - What is the purpose of your profit?
R = Reap - You reap what you sow. What are you sowing?
O = Offer - What are you offering to God? Your household?
F = Follow - Whose prompting are you following? Are you following the world’s trends?
I = Invest - Who do you invest in?
T = Train - Who are you training up?![]()
Praying for the leaders of Feathers LodgeAfter scorecarding and a tea break, which is the same thing as running to Starbucks with co-workers back in the states, we went right into discussing the second “P”, which was “Place”. Some key points related to place were: The place where you work can affect one’s attitude (e.g., overall office environment). Place can also be several different things (e.g., your household; for an Internet business, it can be a virtual place, since place is their website). One of the key ways to improve “Place” is to introduce “Hospitality” and make your place inviting. Hospitality is about meeting other people’s needs. Look at the first part of the word “Hospital”. Hospitality is really about serving others/meeting their needs, while entertaining is about impressing. A question for us all is, “Do people sense the presence of God in your place?”![]()
Our amazing clients! The final “P” today was “Partnering”. The best example of partnering is the Godhead (e.g., the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are three in one; they all work together in a partnership). From there, the discussion went into how partnering can greatly increase the overall impact of a company. A good example of this is VISA and the relationship it has with the airlines and the reward miles people can earn through their partners. We also discussed partners in terms of choosing mate. Partner means helper and leads to accomplishing more than we ourselves are capable of alone. Finally, partnering with unbelievers can lead to ineffective partnership with God if the partnership is structured or weighted in the wrong way, but it can also be a blessing for both sides.
Two leaders (Sonja/Owner and Aneen/General Manager) from Feathers Lodge gave a testimony to how partnering has helped their business over the years. The staff of Feathers Lodge has certainly been our partners during this venture too. They have catered to our every need and always greet us with a smile whenever we see them. Thank you Feathers Lodge for modeling a Godly example of how to serve like Christ with such enthusiasm! We love you all! :)
