TUE - May 15 / Day Seven and Visiting Parliament
![]()
Lunch at the South African ParliamentToday, we had the wonderful privilege of visiting the South African Parliament. Steve Swart, an MP (member of parliament), invited our whole team to come and have lunch with him. We ate in a beautiful banquet room and Steve shared with us a bit about his party and his involvement in the government here in South Africa. He is a member of the ACDP (African Christian Democratic Party), which has just 4 members now. There are eleven parties represented in the South African Parliament, some very large and others quite small, like ACDP. After lunch, we had a chance to watch some of the proceedings in the Parliament chambers. One member of the ACDP spoke for a few moments and we were in awe of the fact that she boldly proclaimed Jesus’s name and was allowed to do so as a government official! Although, the party is quite small at the moment (just 4 MPs out of 400 total), they are trusting that the Lord will do great works in the nation through their involvement, and that the party will continue to grow to fulfill God’s plan for Africa.
The visioning sessions continued today, as several teams met with the intercessors to pray and seek God’s wisdom and guidance in all that they are doing.
Later in the evening, most of us joined our clients for dinner out or at their homes. This was a very special experience for the US consultants and an opportunity to experience a bit of regular South African life within our client’s homes.
