Day 9 - Nov 12, 2006

Today we got a taste of a South African church with an incredible message on social change and a bit of adventure! To start the service off, an overly curious 2-year-old got her head stuck in the return chamber of a pool table located at the back of the auditorium. Wails that grew steadily louder were followed soon after by a schss schss of a hack saw to get her out! Aside from that, the message was quite relevant about the responsibility the church has in matters of social change and meeting societal needs, acknowledging that God is a God of ‘religion and the rest’ and ‘covenant and creation’ and ‘justification and justice.’

In the afternoon we all headed to glimpse the most gorgeous view of Cape Town: Table Mountain. An exquisitely clear day, we held many a mini photo shoot to get that just-right photo in front of the city skyline and bay (see Kevon photographing Teju, left). Breathtaking view.

A trip to Hout Bay finished off the evening where a couple team members were enticed by the sparkling Atlantic and took a dip, clothes and all. Back at the ranch Sunday evening, we buckled down to do some prep for the week and recharge with a time of prayer. There was a strong feeling that the coming week would be a challenging time personally for the consultants…
